Older homes were wired for a fraction of the load we now put on them. Breakers that trip, warm outlets, and lights that dim when the air conditioner starts are the early signals worth acting on.
Panels
If your panel is a known-defective brand, replacement is not optional and we will say so directly. Otherwise, a panel upgrade is usually driven by capacity — a heat pump, a shop, or an EV charger the existing service cannot carry.
EV charging
We check available capacity before quoting a charger. Sometimes a load management device is cheaper and faster than a service upgrade, and we would rather find that out first.
